Brevard Equestrian Center

The home of Ubilee II and Lisa Smit
(USDF Gold Medalist)

Brevard Equestrian Center was founded in 1996 by Lisa Smit to foster healthy relationships between horses and their people.  In 2003, BEC moved to its current location in Grant, FL.  The facility is situated on approximately 36 acres adjacent to the Indian River where Atlantic breezes keep the horses and riders comfortable year round.

We are located close to the Ocala, Orlando and Wellington competition circuits and have ample hotel and restaurants options within 5-10 miles for our out-of-town clients.

BEC offers full boarding, training, paddock & pasture turnouts and lessons.  We pride ourselves on the community we have created here, the happiness and health of our horses, and the ability of our riders.

About

Lisa Smit

As the owner and head trainer (and farm manager and clinic organizer and show manager, etc) at Brevard Equestrian Center there is never a dull moment.  Lisa has over 25 years experience, is an accomplished rider, and has competed through Grand Prix level dressage, earning her Bronze, Silver, and Gold United States Dressage Federation medals.

Lisa currently has a few talented youngsters she’s bringing along including her own, Ubilee II, a Dutch bred horse by Opus.  Ubilee is a very sensitive guy and is very tuned in to Lisa when they work or ride for a hack. He is showing and competing successfully at Grand Prix this season, and has already qualified for Regionals. Ubilee is really coming into his own after diligent work by Lisa with the help of her mentors and trainers, Marius Schriener, Michael Poulin, Sharon Poulin, and Paula Kierkegard.

Lisa has ridden open jumpers, has qualified for the equitation medal finals, and has competed through Training Level eventing. She has several hunter, jumper, and equitation prospects that she is bringing along as well.

Lisa is available for clinics and lessons locally, and nationally.

Please contact for schedule.
